Challenge
Campus Vänner’s existing branding and website were outdated, lacking both structure and visual consistency. The website’s navigation was unintuitive, and its messaging failed to clearly communicate the organization’s purpose and value to its audiences. Balancing a professional tone for businesses with an approachable style for students was a key challenge.
Design process
The redesign focused on creating a cohesive brand identity and user-friendly website. Using Wix Studio, I built a responsive, visually appealing platform with these updates:
Visual design: Crafted a modern brand identity with a unified color palette, typography, and imagery for students and businesses.
Clear messaging: Refined content to highlight Campus Vänner’s mission and benefits for each audience.
Improved navigation: Streamlined the site’s structure for a seamless user experience.
Final result
The revamped brand and website significantly improved Campus Vänner’s visibility and engagement. Post-launch metrics showed increased website traffic and user interactions, with feedback indicating a clearer understanding of the organization’s mission and services. These changes positioned Campus Vänner as a more effective bridge between students and local businesses, enhancing their ability to foster meaningful connections.

I reached out for help with a new website, and Hampus guided me through the entire process in a very thorough way. From the start, I felt confident in his approach, especially how he combined my ideas with his own to achieve the best possible result. I’m incredibly happy with my new website and how Hampus handled everything. I can highly recommend him.

Hampus was my UX Upskill student in the Field Work & Experimentation modules at Hyper Island, and we met online weekly for three months. He was a brilliant class rep, super proactive, organised, and always full of humour.
I'd trust him with any task, as he requires minimal support, and I look forward to following his UX career.

Atlassian buying The browser company: Arc sold
When Atlassian in September 2025 announced they're buying The Browser Company, the team behind Arc, the internet reacted with a mix of surprise and fear. Arc was never a typical browser. It was loved for its clean design, creative energy, and small-team charm. Atlassian, on the other hand, is best known for tools like Jira, Trello, and Confluence, words that don’t exactly scream “fun.”
But this might be one of those rare acquisitions that actually makes sense. If Atlassian plays it right, Arc’s design vision and Atlassian’s AI and productivity focus could hopefully turn into something much bigger.

Why generative AI isn’t really intelligent
People often think of generative AI tools like ChatGPT as “intelligent.” At first glance, it feels true. The answers are fast, convincing, and often sound smart. But here’s the reality: these systems don’t actually understand anything. They don’t make choices, form opinions, or check facts. Instead, they predict the next word based on patterns in huge amounts of data.

The fall of Arc: Great design isn’t enough to save a browser
Arc wasn’t just a browser, it was a bold reimagining of how the internet could feel. It was sleek, focused, and built for creativity. But now, the browser that once felt like the future is quietly fading away.
For many people, Arc Browser felt like the first browser actually made for users and not just ad revenue. So why is it suddenly being discontinued?

Is Google selling Chrome? What you need to know
Maybe you've been seeing headlines about Google maybe having to sell Chrome. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is pushing some big changes that could actually reshape how we browse the internet.
So what’s happening? Why is the U.S. government going after Google’s browser in the first place? And what would it mean if Chrome wasn’t owned by Google anymore?
Let’s break it down.
