Challenge
Asekio’s product faced these challenges:
Diverse users: Meeting the needs of both novices and design professionals with varying skills.
Usability: Early users found some features hidden or unintuitive.
Onboarding: Limited guidance for new users created barriers to engagement.
Balancing simplicity and intuitiveness was key to its success.

Design process
To address these challenges, I focused on a structured approach:
Conducted usability tests with novices and professionals to identify specific pain points.
Held user interviews to gain insights into their expectations and frustrations.
Identified key improvements, such as clearer instructions, reduced hidden functionality, and an enhanced onboarding flow.
Iterated on solutions through prototyping and feedback, ensuring they aligned with user needs.

Final result
The outcome of our work was a comprehensive set of insights and actionable suggestions designed to improve Asekio’s platform both from a user, and business perspective. While we did not implement these changes ourselves, our recommendations provided a clear roadmap for enhancing usability and accessibility. This work positioned Asekio to address critical user challenges and better align their platform with their vision of empowering users to build websites effortlessly.

I reached out for help with a new website, and Hampus guided me through the entire process in a very thorough way. From the start, I felt confident in his approach, especially how he combined my ideas with his own to achieve the best possible result. I’m incredibly happy with my new website and how Hampus handled everything. I can highly recommend him.

Hampus was my UX Upskill student in the Field Work & Experimentation modules at Hyper Island, and we met online weekly for three months. He was a brilliant class rep, super proactive, organised, and always full of humour.
I'd trust him with any task, as he requires minimal support, and I look forward to following his UX career.

6 smart ways to improve website clarity and UX
You’ve got 3 seconds. That’s how long it takes for visitors to decide whether to stay on your site or bounce. In those few moments, your website needs to make a great first impression.
The hero section, typically the first thing people see, should instantly communicate three things:
1. Who you are
2. What you do
3. What makes you different
If it doesn’t do all three, it’s time for a refresh.
